Mini has unveiled the Aceman Concept showcasing the brand’s future design language. The electric crossover will materialize later on and take place between Cooper and Countryman.
The automaker did not disclose any mechanical data about the EV concept; however, we know most of the details inside and out. Seeing the images here, you can see the EV has a distinct Icy Sunglow Green, which gives a blue hue, while the metallic roof wears a British Racing Green shade.
The Aceman focuses on simplicity and sustainability, following the company’s new Charismatic Simplicity styling philosophy. It employs a two-box shape where wheels go at the farthest end to reduce the breadth of the overhangs.
Exterior
Speaking of the dimensions, it is 159.4 inches (4.05 meters) long and 78.35 inches (1.99 meters) wide. For analysis purposes, we can tell the Mini Countryman is 169.7 inches (4.31 meters) long and 78.8 inches (2 meters) wide.
The front face of the EV concept is an evolution of the brand’s design philosophy. It has no grille because it does require any. At its place, we can see an LED glow displaying a Union Jack style, and there is a green border highlighting this section.
Instead of the round headlights we find in Minis, the EV concept gets more angular-shaped lights, and inside, we see small LEDs. Heavy body cladding covers the wheel wells and lower section of the vehicle. We can also find a bronze-hued, Union-Jack-styled roof rack. The concept wears 20-inch wheels, specifically crafted featuring a five-spoke bending style.
The rear gets a black spoiler over the window, and a sleekly designed hatchback and taillights with Union Jack look, similar to what we see for the front lights.
Interior
The interior is minimalist, with nothing much inside except the Circular screen, similar to what we have seen in Minis. You can manage different functions from here as well as use the screen for infotainment purposes. Beneath the screen, we can see some buttons like the parking brake toggle, gear picker, drive mode selector, and audio volume adjuster.
Modernity takes a big leap allowing you to spread the information-display on the dashboard. It means you can see a whole map on the dashboard or fill it with clouds or letters.
Surprisingly and contrary to most luxury and modern vehicles, Mini doesn’t use leather in the interior. Instead, we can see a woven, recycled textile, and the steering wheel gets green velour wrap.
Highlighting another distinct aspect of the Mini Aceman is the exterior lighting following an approaching driver and playing a piece of music. The headlights wink upon the door opening.
Public Debut
Expect the Aceman concept to show its face to the public at the Gamescom video game convention in Cologne, Germany. The event will happen on August 23.
