German Nurburging Circuit Accident Kills One and Injures Several Others

A spectator at VLN endurance race at the Nürburgring in Germany lost his life when the Nissan GT-R No.23 driven by Jann Mardenborough went aerial and crashed into the spectator’s area killing one and injuring several others.

The car flipped over the safety barrier, breaking the chain fence and landing on the spectator’s area.

The race was stopped immediately and the injured spectators were rushed to the nearest hospital. The driver Jann Mardenborough luckily survived the deadly accident and was reported unhurt by the medical team.

Nissan released a statement saying:

“Today’s events have been a tragedy. We are all deeply shocked and saddened by these events and our immediate thoughts go to the deceased, those injured and their families and friends. The team is fully co-operating with the race organizers to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into this incident.”
