You might not have heard the name L’Ébé Bugatti before, but with the arrival of Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé Edition, you would know that L’Ébé was the daughter of Ettore Bugatti – the founder of the company and famous auto engineer. To pay homage to the Bugatti’s creator and his daughter, Bugatti has produced three special edition models.
Bugatti calls it the Chiron L’Ébé Edition and the three units are only available for European customers boasting her name and Art-Deco-inspired design bits.
The L’Ébé edition includes one regular Chiron and two Sport models. The special edition includes a blue-tinted carbon exterior with various gold highlights. We can see the gold accents around the horseshoe grille, in the center of the body, on the character lines of the fenders, the borders of the rear diffuser, parts of the engine cover, “EB” emblems, and the wheels. Moreover, you would find L’Ébé’s signature in gold on the base of the wing and treadplates.
The interior features silk beige and lake blue, with the headrests containing the L’Ébé autograph. The door panels display the most important cars in Bugatti’s history, such as the Chiron, Veyron, EB110, etc.
Bugatti did not change the power recipe for the Chiron L’Ébé Edition. It means the powerplant is the same as we find in the standard Chiron. The power comes from the familiar and famous 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbocharged engine, pumping out 1,480 horsepower (1,105 kilowatts).
Bugatti will stop Chiron’s production soon and is gearing up for its successor. The last few models in Chiron’s lineup will be its most expensive ones including the Centodieci, which will come with a €8 million price tag.
The engineers are already working on Chiron’s successor and reportedly it will have an electrified powertrain. The new Bugatti supercar will have a hybrid powertrain, meaning it will still have a petrol engine. However, the company didn’t tell anything about the new powertrain.
Bugatti also keeps the design elements under wraps for now. The successor possibly wouldn’t be a mid-engine car, such as the Veyron and Chiron. Rumors say it could be a coupe with a stretched hood. We heard Bugatti has shown the new vehicle’s design to some of its clients. We can see the vehicle personally in 2024.
The supercar maker also plans to bring an all-electric car before the end of 2030. Apparently, it will use technology from Rimac – its new partner that produces high-performance electric vehicles.
