By now, you’re probably aware of the multitude of choices available for Porsche vehicles. However, it’s important to note that options, especially for special-edition models like the new 911 S/T, can significantly drive up the cost. With a base price of $291,600, adding various options can easily surpass the cost of a new 718 Cayman S. Additionally, if you want the cool matching watch, that’s an extra $13,500 to consider.
In case you haven’t discovered it yet, the configurator for the Porsche 911 S/T is now live, and we took the opportunity to create the ultimate version, which happens to come with a substantial price tag of $374,600. Surpassing all other 911 models in the 992 lineup, it currently stands as the costliest new Porsche available unless you opt out of two purely aesthetic features.
Porsche offers a highly personalized paint option called “Paint to Sample Plus,” enabling customers to choose any feasible solid or metallic color based on a submitted sample, resulting in a fully custom car color. While it comes at a substantial $43,390 additional cost for the 911 S/T model, standard white and black colors remain complimentary, and customers can opt for one of the six special colors at a cost of $4,220.
The alternative top-tier add-on could present a greater challenge to resist – a tribute worth $20,360, known as the Heritage Design Package, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the 911. This package grants access to striking Porsche graphics and roundels adorning the sides, timeless Porsche crests on the hood and wheels, distinguished gold 911 S/T branding on the back, and an exquisite Heritage Design two-tone interior in black and cognac, among various other exclusive features.
Furthermore, acquiring the Shore Blue Metallic paint solely becomes possible through this method, although Porsche permits purchasers to pair it with paint-to-sample. The authenticity of this allowance in the configurator remains ambiguous, yet opting for these two choices results in a staggering increase of $63,750 in the total price. Quite a significant amount, indeed.
In addition, opting for the Heritage Design Package significantly limits the variety of interior color and material options, leaving only brushed aluminum door sills at a cost of $1,180 and the possibility to include leather on seat backrest shells for $1,900. When selecting the heritage upgrade, the Chrono Package is automatically included, which, in turn, eliminates the ability to choose custom options for key fobs, owner’s manual wallets, and floormats.
Available options encompass the front-axle lift system, which some argue is essential, priced at $3,670. Opting for top-tier LED Matrix headlights adds $4,010, while integrating a Bose surround stereo costs $1,600. Various trim and tech features contribute to the ultimate price, and if we’re investing significantly in a 911, we will undoubtedly allocate $2,000 for the delivery experience in Los Angeles. So, my acquaintances, that’s the expenditure of acquiring a new Porsche, totaling $374,600.
Does the cost justify the purchase? This is no ordinary 911; it boasts incredible speed, equipped with the identical 518-horsepower flat-six engine found in the 911 GT3 RS. Moreover, it comes exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, and with only 1,963 units scheduled for production, it promises to be an exceptionally scarce automobile.
