The upcoming next-generation 2018 BMW X3 has been caught once again testing at an unknown location prior to its official debut ceremony on June 26th, 2017.
Till now, BMW has only released a few teaser images of the 2018 BMW X3, however most of the important details are not unknown. We do know it will be based on the BMW’s CLAR modular platform, which debuted in the 2016 7-series. This particular architecture will help keeping the overall weight of the vehicle about 200 pounds lesser than the current X3 in the market. The new platform will also improve the interior and cargo space.
Powering the 2018 BMW X3 will most likely be the latest 3.0-liter inline-6 cylinder unit which is also present in the recently launched 3-Series. A four-cylinder unit as well as a plug-in hybrid powertrain are also a possibility.
Reports suggest an M version of the BMW X3 is also under development, as we have caught it several times test driving. It will most definitely feature more aggressive exterior components and an enhanced powertrain. An all-electric variant for the BMW X3 might also debut by 2020.
More details will be revealed, as the automaker unveils the 2018 BMW X3 on June 26th at the BMW’s plant Spartanburg, South Carolina. Expect it to arrive in the UAE later this year.
By the way we have also got the leaked pictures of the new X3. The pictures below are of the leaked X3.
