The 2021 Kia Sorento is going to make its US debut on September 22, but before its official reveal, the automaker has released two teaser images, which specifically show Kia’s take on the range’s rugged model, X-Line.
New for the American markets, the rugged variant sports the X-Line emblem in one of the teaser images. The second one shows a rough side profile.
While the company did not reveal the technical specs of the fourth-generation Sorento, it will allegedly be carrying a turbocharged 2.5L gasoline mill good for 277 horsepower and 310 pound-feet (421 Newton-meters) of torque.
The 2021 Kia Sorento hybrid will also join the lineup with a turbocharged 1.6L gasoline engine mated to a 44-kW electric motor to create 227 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque, combined. The power goes to all the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. A plug-in hybrid version will also come later on for the select markets.
For Europe (specs revealed already), Kia is introducing a 2.2L diesel generating 199 hp and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque paired with a new double-clutch eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2021 Kia Sorento will hit the roads before the end of this year, while the US and UAE debut will happen next year.
