In its bid to spice things up for the hot hatchback market, Hyundai has revamped Veloster to give birth to the 2019 Hyundai Veloster. The vehicle was formally announced at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show and is due to release in the current quarter. The automaker confirms that the price will start at $19,385 for the base model and goes up to $29,035 for the top of the line 2019 Hyundai Veloster.
Under its hood is a Nu 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that purges out 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. Hyundai offers two transmissions including a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic to be mated with the engine. Furthermore, there are various driving modes that enhance the drive of the vehicle depending on the situation. The Normal mode is for regular driving while the Sport mode adds a bit of punch to the driving experience. The Smart mode is only available with the automatic transmission.
Hyundai also offers the Veloster Turbo version that features a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine pumping out 201 hp as well as 195 lb-ft of torque. The Turbo gives 2 transmission options including a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual clutch. Hyundai has also decided to add B&M sport transmission into the mix, which will be known as R-Spec.
The powerful hot hatchback is supported by the multi-link suspension and houses some of the most advanced safety features. The interior has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that is displayed on a 7.0-inch infotainment. It can be upgraded to 8.0 inch.
