We have been closely following the development of the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace and now we are pleased to inform you that the crossover SUV has finally been launched by the automaker.
Talking about the design, the all-new 2018 Jaguar E-Pace somewhat resembles the Jaguar F-Type and also shares some components such as the headlights and taillights with the two-door sports car. Wayne Burgess, Jaguar’s head of production design told they wanted the 2018 E-Pace to look different compared to its sibling, the Jaguar F-Pace crossover. The 2018 E-Pace rides on the same LR-MS platform, which also underpins the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport
On the inside, the Jaguar E-Pace boasts the latest equipment including a 10.0-inch infotainment display with a number of integrated apps and smartphone integration. Additionally, a 12.3-inch touch display is also available as an option along with a Meridian sound system, 4G Wi-Fi hotspot and more. It also renders advanced safety features such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind spot warning and more.
Powering the base 2018 Jaguar E-Pace will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 cylinder unit producing 246 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The E-Pace R-Dynamic variant will carry the same 2.0L turbo engine, but with an increased output of 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The engine in both the models will be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, while an all-wheel drive system will be available as standard. Customers can also opt for an optional Configurable Electronic Chassis system.
Official statistics indicate that the base E-Pace could go from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.6 seconds with a top speed of 143 mph. Moreover, the E-Pace R-Dynamic achieves 60 mph in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 151 mph.
The E-Pace will be showcased to the general public later this year at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show.
